Dogpile
is one of the Internet's leading 'meta-search engines'. A
meta-search engine allows users to easily search many different
search engines from one page.
Unlike
some other search engines, it is no secret where Dogpile gets
its results from. However, being aware of which search engines
Dogpile 'favors' can help you appear at the top of their listings.
Although
it searches many search engines, Dogpile seems to give preference
to sites listed on two pay-per-click search engines, Overture.com
and Findwhat.com.
Dogpile also includes results from other smaller pay-per-click
engines such as Ah-ha
and SearchHippo.
Here is
an example of what the search results at Dogpile
look like:

In
the above example, you can see sample listings from both Overture
and Findwhat. Keep in mind that Dogpile appears to randomize
its results so that the order of listed engines can vary on
each search.
The
good news is that (depending on the keyword), listings with
Overture are available for as little as ten cents per click.
And listings on Findwhat start at only one cent per click.
Unlike banner ads, pay per click services only get paid when
a genuine visitor reads and clicks through to your web site.
Now that
you know the basics, you may want to do a search on Dogpile
for the keywords you are interested in. Just use the following
